What is Camp Surefire?

Camp Surefire is an overnight camp program specifically designed for children and teens with type 1 diabetes.

When is camp?

Summer camp (for ages 7+) will be held August 18-23, 2025. Registration is now open.

Where is camp?

Camp Surefire is held at Camp JORI in Wakefield, Rhode Island.

Do you have an Open House?

Our 2025 Open House will be held on June 1 at Camp JORI.

Do you have a day camp option?

No. We are a residential camp and do not offer a day camp program.

How much does it cost to attend Camp Surefire?

Summer camp tuition is $750 (for campers ages 7-17).  There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee.

Is Financial Aid available?

Financial aid “camperships” are available for children with Type 1 Diabetes who without assistance would not be able to attend Camp Surefire. The Camp Surefire Foundation determines financial aid using the federal income eligibility guidelines for the National School Lunch Program and on a case-by-case basis. To apply for a campership, you must submit your camper’s completed registration form.
