Summer Camp Info
Camp Surefire’s summer camp program is designed for children 7 years old and up. Camp Surefire is an overnight camp program. We do not have a day camp option.
Campers are divided into groups/cabins based on their age in order to participate in age-appropriate activities. Typically, we have groups of ages 7-9 year olds, 10-12 year olds, and 13-14 year olds. Our older campers (15-17 year olds) apply to be part of our Leader-in-Training (LIT) program. Note: Exact age groups vary year-to-year depending on camper enrollment and cabin space.

Being a Leader-in-Training (LIT) is a very coveted role at Camp Surefire. LITs participate in special diabetes education seminars, team building activities, and leadership exercises during the week. They also assist with programming activities for the younger campers.
To apply to be an LIT, parents/guardians must complete and submit the online registration form. Applicants (all campers ages 15-17) will be emailed directly by our LIT directors to complete an additional application via email. This needs to be completed by the teen camper – not by the parent/guardian. Note: LIT spots are competitive and are not guaranteed.
In addition to our summer program, we offer a spring retreat for teens with Type 1 diabetes. Campers must be 13 years old by the start of summer camp (August 2025) to register for the teen weekend. Overnight Summer Camp Tuition
$750 (including a non-refundable registration fee of $50)
Non-Refundable Registration Fee:
A non-refundable registration fee ($50) is required to reserve a space for summer camp for campers ages 7-17. This fee is part of the total camp fee and will be deducted from any processed refunds. Payment Options:
- Pay balance in full. Pay by Credit Card or eCheck for selected session(s).
- Sign up for a payment plan. Pay the Registration Fee(s) for the selected session(s) and enroll in a monthly credit/debit card-based payment plan.
- Pay just the Registration Fee. Pay only the Registration Fee(s) to reserve your camper’s spot(s). This option is best if you plan to apply for Campership support or if you wish to pay tuition by mailing a check to the camp office.

Cancellations & Refunds (Summer Camp):
- Before June 15th: Eligible camp fees will be refunded (minus the non-refundable registration fee)
- After June 15th: No refunds will be issued, including departures for behavioral reasons or homesickness.
- Medical exceptions: Partial refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis with supporting medical documentation.
