About Us

We’re so excited that you are considering joining us at Camp Surefire!

Even though it’s a very exciting process, we also know that being away from home for the first time can be a bit daunting for new campers (and especially their parents/guardians!). Our team does an amazing job ensuring that campers feel comfortable not only on their first day of camp, but throughout the course of the week.

Camp truly is a big family! At Camp Surefire, our campers are cared for as if they are our own kids or our counselor’s younger siblings. Our med staff and dietitians are on site 24/7 ensuring we are all safe, well-fed, and have our BGs in range, while our program staff puts together a week of the most fun and amazing activities for all of us to enjoy!

Every first-year camper has the same important questions: Will I feel comfortable? Will I make friends? Will I like the cabins, the food, and the schedule? We go to great lengths to make sure each camper has everything they need to thrive at camp and before they know it, they will feel part of the Camp Surefire family and see camp as their home away from home!

Preparing Your Child for Sleepaway Camp

Ali Fox, our Executive Director (aka Camp Mom), is available to answer any questions that you or your camper may have about the process or camp week itself. Please don’t hesitate to reach out by phone or email (401-474-1606 or afox@campsurefire.org).

Brian

“I’ll never forget the first year that my son returned from Camp Surefire. He said his favorite part was at the lake when all the other boys took off their shirts to swim and he realized that everyone was like him…they all had devices. Camp Surefire has helped define who my son is as a person with diabetes, but most importantly who he is as a person.”

~ Brian, Camp Parent
