Camp Policies

Cell Phone Policy

We have a strict no cell phone policy at Camp Surefire. However, we do allow campers who use CGMs to bring their phones (and/or receivers) to camp. Counselors will be in charge of holding all camper cell phones.

Cloud sharing with parent/guardians must be turned off for all apps during camp. Cloud sharing will be enabled for the Medical Staff to track campers BGs.

Campers will not be allowed to use their cell phones for calls home or for other activities. Please do not text or call their phone during camp week.

Please help us enforce the cell phone policy and be sure your camper does not bring any other WiFi enabled devices to camp.  If devices are found, they will be held in the office for the remainder of camp and the camper may be at risk for being sent home.

If you need to reach your camper during camp week, please contact us on the camp cell phone (401-474-1606).

Three-Deep Policy

Camp Surefire is committed to safeguarding the well-being of campers and volunteers. Camp Surefire upholds a three-deep policy, never allowing a camper to be alone with just one person (staff or another camper).

For summer camp, we anticipate having 100 campers (ages 7-17) and approximately 75 volunteers (ages 18+). Our counselor to camper ratio is typically 1:2 or 1:3.

National background checks and references are run on all staff/volunteers. Staff/Volunteer training covers several topics related to Minor Safeguarding include Camper Safety, Appropriate Interactions, Reporting Procedures, and Social Media.
